Mildred Hawkins Turner, 98, of Matoaca, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Dinwiddie Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Mary Elizabeth Harris Hawkins, and the widow of Clifton Floyd (Whitey) Turner Sr. Mrs. Turner was a member of Ettrick United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Donna Leininger and husband, Mitchell of Colonial Heights; two sons, Charles H. Turner and wife, Carolyn and Cliff Turner Jr. and wife, Linda all of Chesterfield; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 29, 2012 in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg with the Reverend James Blankenship officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
