Milton Skelton

Milton Howard Skelton, 93, of Heathsville, Virginia passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022. Born March 31, 1929, he was the son of the late Benjamin Howard and Lucy Green Skelton, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Lena Skelton; and six siblings.

Milton worked in many barbershops throughout the years in Petersburg. Once the family business, West End Barbershop, closed, he was finally able to retire after close to 50 years of dedicated service to his community. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, and also enjoyed working in his yard.

He is survived by his loving children, Grace Skelton Connor and husband, Michael, Milton Howard Skelton, Jr. and wife, Tish Coale; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Wathall; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 535 S Crater Rd, Petersburg, VA 23803. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105, or Boys Town USA, P.O. Box 8000, Boys Town, NE 68010.
