Morris Lee "Mo Mo" Veazey, 62, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Katherine Bowles Veazey and Joseph Bennett Veazey Jr. Morris Veazey attended Colonial Heights Baptist Church, was a member of the Petersburg Fraternal Order of the Eagles #882, and a building contractor. He is survived by his wife, Linda B. Veazey; two daughters, Tess Veazey Ransone of Colonial Heights, and Angie Veazey Zerull of Chesterfield; a step-son, Stephen Shayne Barnes of Colonial Heights; four grandchildren, Cromwell Ransone, Vaylan Zerull, Winston Ransone, and Eliza Keeton; a brother, J.B. Veazey III and wife, Trisha of Colonial Heights; a niece, Dana Veazey Bishop; a nephew, Corey Veazey; his Tennessee Walkers, Black Jack and Jesse James; Labradors, Boi & Moses; and Basset Hound, Sydney. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2012 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Ronald West officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
