Myrtle Colbert

Myrtle Y. Colbert, 96, of Colonial Heights, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Colonial Heights Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late George Washington and Lola Ann Buchanan Yancey. Mrs. Colbert was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Wood Colbert; eight brothers and two sisters. She was a former member of Harrowgate Baptist Church. Mrs. Colbert is survived by a son, Donald W. Colbert of Ettrick; daughter JoAnn Colbert of Chesterfield; sister, Janie Y. Wade of Chester; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Debra Copeland officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 25, 2013 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers are welcomed or contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
