Nancy Armour

Nancy Irwin Fulmer Armour passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020. She was born June 5, 1936 to the late Donald B. Fulmer and Ione Irwin Fulmer. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald W. Armour and their daughter, Denise Anne DeJuliis. She is survived by her siblings Patricia Scheick of OR, and Donald Fulmer of CT; son Donald W. Armour Jr. of FL and his wife Patty; her daughter Patrice Pala of DE and her husband Steve; her daughter Tracey Gerstbrein of Virginia and her husband Brad; grandchildren Chas VanHeest, James D. Armour, Gabrielle VanHeest, Kelcey DeJuliis, Seth Pala, Samantha Kelley and her husband Sean, Drew DeJuliis, and Leighanne Gerstbrein; and great grandson Jack Zatwarntsky.

How do you summarize a person's whole life into a few words?

Nancy loved travelling, boating and the beach! She met her husband Don in Wildwood, NJ and after a very brief courtship, they were married in 1956. Their loving marriage lasted 43 years until his death in 1999. After Don’s death Nancy set out on her own in an RV determined to explore the parts of the US that she and Don had not yet visited.

In 2010 Nancy was diagnosed with dementia and went to live at an assisted living facility in Petersburg where she quickly gained the reputation of being spunky and rather sassy. She remained so until she died. She was very well cared for by a loving staff at Bridges of Petersburg and At Home Care Hospice. Our family is exceptionally and eternally grateful for their loving care.

Nancy’s legacy is family and friends who loved her, were loved by her and who shared the joys and sorrows of life with her. She is whole again.
