Nannie Edith Morris Wilson, 88, of Dinwiddie County, departed this life on Friday, March 4, 2022. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Wilson; her parents, Benjamin Franklin Morris and Virginia Babb Morris; brothers, Bennie Morris and Mack Morris; and sisters, Geraldine Vaughan and Katherine Pond.
She is survived by her sister, Emily Williams; brothers, Joe Morris and William Morris; brother-in-law, Wayne Vaughan; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Edith was blessed to have her baby brother, William, live next door for many years. William was a devoted caregiver to her since her health declined in late 2018. He would see her daily to assist with meals and medications.
After Edith retired from Brown & Williamson in 1985, she worked at Super Fresh. Once she fully retired, she volunteered several days a week at Southside Regional Medical Center until her health prevented her from driving.
The family will receive friends from 12:45 – 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805. A procession will follow and a graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022 in Southlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crater Community Hospice, 3916 South Crater Road Petersburg, VA 23805. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
