Nell Rowland

Nell Washer Rowland, 88, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at her home. She is survived by her husband, Eugene Rudolph Rowland "Rudy;" two sons, Richard Keith Rowland (Cathy) and James Craig Rowland; two grandchildren, Jessica and Travis Rowland; and several cousins. Nell was a devoted member of Second Presbyterian Church and had retired as a medical technician after working for Dr. Alvin Cohen's office for many years. Nell was also a graduate of Petersburg High School and the Westhampton College for Women. She loved to paint and loved to tend to her flower garden. Her family will always remember her as a loving and compassionate wife, mother, and grandmother. A funeral service will be held 11a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018 at E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George, Virginia.
