Nellie Y. Harvey, 88, of Chesterfield, departed this life on wings of Angels to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 1, 2011. Born in Granville County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Lola Buchanan Yancey, and the widow of James Edward Harvey Sr. Mrs. Harvey was a member of Second Chance Baptist Church and had a love for singing and quilting. She is survived by her children, Donna H. Miller and husband, Lee of Chester; James E. Harvey Jr. and wife, Elaine of Chester, and Darlene H. Hill of Chesterfield; four grandchildren, Tracey Lynn Warner and husband, Jeff, James Phillip (J.P.) Miller and wife, Jeaneen, René Nicole Harvey, and Lindsey Reed Hill; four great-grandchildren, Jenna & Jamie Miller, Ashley & Kimberly Warner; a brother, Raymond Yancey of North Carolina; two sisters, Myrtle Colbert of Colonial Heights, and Janie Wade of Chester; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Tom & Sherry Redford. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2011 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend David Prather officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to Second Chance Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.
