Nelson Good

Nelson Leroy Good, 64, of Chester, VA passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015. Born on March 13, 1951 in Harrisonburg, VA he was the son of the late James David and Miriam Hertzler Good. Mr. Good was a member of Harrisonburg Mennonite Church and attended First Christian Church in Hopewell and Prospect Christian Church in DeWitt. He worked at Schwarzschild Jewelers for many years and had recently retired from Cowardin's Jewelers as a watch maker. He is survived by his loving wife, Sally Johnston Good; a son, Jason David Good of Chester; one brother, Ray Good and wife, Diania of Harrisonburg, VA; a sister, Barbra Knupp and husband, Richard of Harrisonburg, VA, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, hunting buddies and friends. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2015 at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA, 23834. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at First Christian Church, 203 N. 11th Ave., Hopewell, VA 23860. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Craig Springs Camp and Retreat Center, Care of, Christian Church In Virginia (Disciples of Christ), 1290 Enterprise Dr., Lynchburg, VA 24502-5744.
