Nelson Ben Jones

Nelson Ben Jones, 88, of Hopewell, passed away August 23, 2024. He was born April 3, 1936, to the late Nelson Edward and Ruth Roberta Caudle Jones. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carol Jones, and Guy Jones. Mr. Jones retired after 21 years of service as a Sergeant First Class with the United States Army. After retirement from his military service, he went to work as a security officer for BRENCO, and John Randolph Medical Center. He is survived by his daughters, Venus L. Beville and husband Larry, of Lake Gaston, Vickie L. Lunsford, and husband Bill, of Hopewell, Vanette L. Fontenot and husband Gilbert of Prince George, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family graveside with Military Honors will be held at a later date in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Ameilia. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Destination Church 5258 Oaklawn Boulevard Hopewell, Virginia 23860. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
