Nettie Mason

Nettie Moore Mason, 83, of Colonial Heights passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022. Born August 10, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Charles Joseph and Clara Estelle Moore, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edmond Mason; and sisters, Shirley Moore Cole and Brenda Peyton Blaha.

Nettie was a longtime member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. After 30 years of dedicated service in the cafeteria, she retired from Colonial Heights Public Schools. She loved working in her garden, reading and taking trips to the beach.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Tammy Lynne Mason (Jo Ellen) of Durham, NC, Kimberly Gail Mason Wells (C. Todd) of Disputanta, VA; grandchildren, Mason Lee Frazier (Kaylee Nicole) and Lauren Nicole Wells; great-grandchildren, Kynlee Ann Frazier and Kolson Lee Frazier; sisters, Josie Landers, Jackie Peyton Graham, Edna Chilton; brother, Wilbur Peyton III; dear friends, Willie Ragsdale and Carlene Mason; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park.
