Norbert Arlt

Master Sergeant (R) Norbert "Opa" M. Arlt, 87, of Petersburg, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on 24 July 2017, leaving behind his loving wife Ilse "Lisa" of 59 years and his faithful companion Rusty. Also surviving him is his daughter Rose Ann Jessup and husband Charles, grandson David P. Faughnan and wife Stephanie, and great grandchildren Mikayla, Haleigh, Andrew and Knoahe. One sister, Dorothy Halan, of Melrose Park, Illinois and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He retired after 23 years of dedicated service to the U.S. Army and continued that service to the American Legion Post 2 and the 40 & 8 on Winfield Road, Petersburg, Virginia. A memorial service is scheduled at the American Legion Post 2 in Petersburg on August 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Attention: V-L977, Nurses Training Scholarship, 820 Winfield Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23803.
