Ollie Mae Spiares Godburn, 89, of Colonial Heights, VA passed from this life on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Orange, TX she was the daughter of the late James Kentchen and Rosa Austin Spiares. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John J. "Jack" Godburn. Mrs. Godburn was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Petersburg, VA. Mom was a founding member and a regent of the Court Regina Coeli Catholic Daughters and served as an officer and active member of the Crape Myrtle Twig. She is survived by her five sons, John C. Godburn and wife, Maciel of Fresno, CA, Michael A. Godburn of Coppell, TX, Raymond P. Godburn and wife, Elizabeth of Dinwiddie, James J. Godburn and wife, Elaine of Farmville and Thomas D. Godburn of Hopewell; one daughter, Mary C. Hatcher and husband, Richard of Mount Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Ian Godburn, Keenan Godburn, Austin Godburn, Joseph Godburn, Andrew Godburn, Ashton Hatcher, James Tucker, Wynn Tucker Walsh, John Tucker; great-grandchildren, Sadie Rose Godburn and Harper Grace Godburn, Thomas Tucker, Misa Tucker, Curlett Walsh, Kacy Tucker, and Gavyn Burggett. A prayer vigil will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 151 W. Washington St., Petersburg, VA 23803 with Fr. Brian Capuano, celebrant. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com
