Olyce Price Jr.

Olyce "Jack" Early Price, Jr., 73, passed away on Saturday July 22, 2017 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Petersburg, Virginia on June 11, 1944, to the late Olyce E. and Lula K. Price, Jack was a faithful member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, a board chairman, den leader, and assistant Cub Master of the Boy Scouts, a lieutenant for the Colonial Heights Auxiliary Police, as well as a Past-President of the Colonial Heights Optimist Club and Travelers Protective Association (TPA). Jack served his community as a Chief Deputy of the Colonial Heights Sheriff's Department and owned his own business, Price Automotive, for several years. Jack also loved the Outer Banks, especially with his children and grandchildren. Jack is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 52 years, Charlotte Stoss Price; beloved son, Joseph William Price; beloved daughter, Laure A. Hahn and husband, Richard; his sister, Margaret Hargrave; his deeply beloved grandchildren, USAF Staff Sergeant Cabell Zachary Fuller, Mary Joe Price, and Catherine Beach and husband, Shawn; and his great-grandson, Cody Beach. A graveside service will be held on Thursday July 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in Blandford Cemetery, 319 South Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23803, with a procession leaving the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 501 Old Town Drive, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
