Orvel Chambers

Orvel L. Chambers, 70, of Disputanta, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at his residence. He was the son of the late Lenzy Oren and Josie Mae Davis Chambers. Mr. Chambers was a United States Army Veteran and a member of Oakland Baptist Church in Disputanta. He is survived by his wife, Sandra J. Chambers; two daughters, Denita Renee Schneider of Portsmouth, and Karen Michelle Chambers of Suffolk; brother, Arlos O. Chambers of Havelock, North Carolina; sister, Zelda M Chambers of Burgaw, North Carolina; three grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012 in Oakland Baptist Church, 12601 Prince George Drive, Disputanta, Virginia 23842 with the Reverend Robert W. Livesay III officiating. Interment will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday in Meadow Brook Memorial Gardens, 4569 Shoulders Hill Road, Suffolk, Virginia 23435. The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service at church.
