Pallie Berry McMillan, 79 of Prospect, Virginia died peacefully December 25, 2012 at her home. She is the widow of Retired Army Sergeant First Class William L. McMillan, Sr. The most important person in her life was her husband, who she affectionately called Bill. They were married for over forty nine years. Polly was born on March 29, 1933 in Prince Edward County to the late Ding and Martha Berry. She is survived by two sons, William Lee McMillan, Jr. and Kent Michael McMillan as well as Kent's wife, Claudia, all of Prospect, Virginia. Pallie is also survived by one brother, William Berry and wife Anne of Hampden-Sydney, Virginia. She has two granddaughters, Sarah McMillan King and husband Andrew of Charleston, South Carolina and Laura McMillan of Virginia Beach, Virginia. She has two great-grandsons, Sullivan Ryan King and Brooks Monroe King, both of Charleston, SC. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Ann Seay and Ruby McMillan and brother-in-law Joe McMillan, and numerous nephews and nieces. Polly accepted the Lord at an early age. She was a devout Christian and was a member of Swift Creek Baptist Church before moving to Prospect, where she became a member of Concord Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Swift Creek Baptist Church 18510 Branders Bridge Rd Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834, led by the Rev. Steve Felker and assisted by the Rev. Rick Caldwell, with burial to follow at Dale Memorial Park. Those wishing to make donations may make them to the building fund of either church.
