Patricia Temple Wood, 69, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Bessie Temple (née Barritt). She is survived by her husband of 34 years, John Tinsley Wood; her son, Adam Isham Wood; her daughter, Meredith Lipscomb; her son-in-law, Robert Lipscomb; her granddaughter, Eleanor Lipscomb; her mother-in-law, Marjorie A. Wood; and her brother, Alan Temple. Patricia graduated from Hermitage High School in 1965 as the renown "Puma." She then graduated from Westhampton College of the University of Richmond with honors. She had a career in the advertising industry before deciding to earn her master's degree from the College of William and Mary. She then became a high school English teacher and remedial reading specialist at Henrico High School until moving to Colonial Heights where she became involved in her community and local politics in 1984. An accomplished downhill skier, avid scuba diver, gifted writer, biblical scholar, excellent cook and knowledgeable antiques collector with a ready wit and engaging manner. She was a much beloved wife and mother who's passing will be sorely felt by all that knew her. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at St John's Episcopal Church, 842 W. Washington St., Petersburg, Virginia 23803. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
