Paul Brooks

Paul Raymond "Roho" Brooks, 79, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie C. and Blanche D. Brooks, a sister, Mary Barnes and a step-sister, Hazel Butler. He worked for 30 years for Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 882 and American Legion SALS, Post 2. He enjoyed singing and playing Bluegrass and Country music all his life. He also played guitar and fiddle. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Mary W. Brooks; daughter, Diane L. Burden and husband, Dr. James Burden; son Paul R. Brooks, Jr. and wife, Sandra Brooks; grand-children, (twins), Jaison Brooks and Joshua Brooks and wife, Allisa, Chris Burden, Jamie Lynn Burden, Ryan Burden; great grand-daughter Elsie Rose Brooks; step grand-daughters Angie Reed, Wanda Ashworth and husband Joey; step great-grandson Eli English; Brothers, David Brooks, Gene Brooks, and Jerry Brooks and wife June; a sister, Jackie Flowers ;a very special niece Tracey Hartman; and numerous nieces and nephews A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. on Monday, September 8, 2014 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend David Prather officiating. Entombment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George.
