Paul Bulifant Jr., 89, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Paul and Bertha Wilkinson Bulifant. Mr. Bulifant was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. He was a United States Navy veteran having served in WWII, a retired agent with Prudential Life Insurance, and a retired Magistrate for the City of Colonial Heights. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Adelaide C. Bulifant; a son, Paul A. Bulifant and wife, Lesley of Colonial Heights; a daughter, Deborah B. Hoyle and husband, Larry of Richmond; six grandchildren, Christa B. Gibbons and husband, Ryan of Richmond, Matthew E. Bulifant of Colonial Heights, Steven M. Bulifant of Colonial Heights, Ashley H. Sanders and husband, Nick of Texas, Aaron Hoyle of Richmond, and Allison Hoyle of Richmond; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2011 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Mike Murray, the Reverend Dr. Andrew Brockelman, and the Reverend Dr. Larry Hoyle officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg with military honors. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10:50 a.m. prior to the service on Monday.
