Paul P. Flexon, 84, of Colonial Heights, Virginia and Sebring, Florida passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Petersburg, Virginia and the son of the late Charles Henry and Ruth Z. Flexon. Mr. Flexon was preceded in death by his son, Charles Henry Flexon II, three brothers, Howard B. Flexon, Vernon H. Flexon, and Eugene Flexon, and three sisters, Gladys F. Lee, Naomi F. Chandler, and Miriam F. Person. He retired in 1987 after a 40 year career as a wallpapering contractor. He was a veteran of the Army and served in the European Theater during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Jane Croom Flexon of Colonial Heights, Virginia and Sebring, Florida; his daughter, Verna Hope Flexon of Sebring, Florida; two grandchildren, Charles Henry Flexon III of Washington, DC and Sara Jane F. Schaaf (Kahl) of Richmond, Virginia; His great granddaughter Morgan Schaaf, his sister, Esther F. Cousins of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina; and Chesterfield and a brother, Donald L. Flexon of Petersburg, Virginia. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2009 in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester with the Reverend Tige Newell of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Colonial Heights, Virginia will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
