Paul Johnson

Paul David Johnson Sr., age 67, of S. Chesterfield, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2019 at VCU Health System, due to an accident.  He was born on October 11, 1952 to the late Carthin V. and Opal Huff Johnson, and was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa Johnson.

Prior to living in S. Chesterfield, Paul worked for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company in Petersburg, until their relocation to Macon, Georgia.  Both he and his wife, Kathy transferred to Macon, both of whom worked for the company until retirement, they then relocated back to Virginia after 40 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Kathy Clay Johnson; son, Paul David Johnson, II; and grandson, Paul David Johnson, III; sisters, Deborah Conti (Garr) and Delores Gates (Russell); and nieces.  Also surviving is his mother-in-law, Lillian Kelley (Gene) of Colonial Heights; sister-in-law, Pattie Browder (Brian) of N. Dinwiddie; brother-in-law, Robert “Billy” Clay (Lynette) of Chesterfield; and several nieces & nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.  Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S.
