Paul Leonard Lumpkin, Sr.

Paul L. Lumpkin Sr., 87, of Chester, Virginia passed away on April 9, 2023. He was born on March 15, 1936, to Ennis and Dorothy Lumpkin. Paul retired from Reynolds Metal after 30 years of service, and then went on to enjoy retired life by fishing, hunting, gardening, antiquing, yard sale hunting, and making fishing lures in his backyard tackle shop. He would light up every room he walked into and would not leave without telling a joke. His kind and generous heart will always be remembered by those he touched over the years. Paul loved his family dearly and made that known to everyone he crossed paths with.

He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce Lumpkin (2009) and is survived by his son, Paul “Lennie” Lumpkin Jr. and Sonya Canton of Chester, VA; daughter, Lisa Underwood and her husband, Richard Underwood of Prince George, VA; grandchildren, Daniel Lumpkin (2023), Trey Lumpkin and his wife, Gloria, Ashley Lumpkin, Melany Tate and her husband, Kenny (2022), Alia Chiles and her husband, Marvin Chiles, Jessica Jubran and fiancé, Josh Wagner, Chase Underwood, William Underwood, and Bryanna Underwood; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Zyon, Zyaire, Marley, Kiaya, Dylan, Brooke, Austin, August, Bella, Xander, Melody, Presleigh, and Shay; sister in-law, Brenda Jenkins; niece, Tracie Jenkins; and nephew, Thomas W. Jenkins IV.
