Paula Ann Pickard

Paula Ann Pickard, 59, of Danville, Virginia passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023. Born on March 23, 1964, she was the daughter of Shirley Ann Barr and the late Roy Bullard. She was also preceded in death by her dad, Gerald Barr. She embraced the beauty of the outdoors with a heart full of enthusiasm. Whether she was casting her line into a calm lake, camping under the stars, or exploring new trails, Paula's love for nature was unwavering. A true artist at heart, Paula found solace in crafting and painting. Her creative spirit flowed through every brushstroke and intricate piece she made. She had a remarkable ability to transform ordinary materials into extraordinary works of art, leaving a touch of beauty wherever she went. Paula's spirit of adventure and creativity touched the lives of all who knew her. Her warm smile and kind demeanor made her a beloved friend and companion. She leaves behind a legacy of appreciating the world around us and finding joy in the simple things. Paula is survived by her mother, Shirley Barr; son, Jeffrey Pickard; brother, Monte Bullard; sister, Liane Payne; beloved companion, Bo Timms; two stepsisters, Elaine Westphal and Gerri Lynn Barnes; two stepbrothers, Gerald Barr Jr. and Frank Barr; nieces, Jessica Bullard, Chelsie Ballard, Kristina Barnes, Shannon Barnes, Caitlin Westphal, and Stasia DeReuter; nephews, Dustin Bullard, Ryan Keffer, and Shane West Paul; and numerous aunts, uncles, and other extended family members. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, 11302 Merchants Hope Rd, Hopewell, VA 23860. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at the Crater Road Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805.
