Pauline Doss Lindsey, 88, of Colonial Heights, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018. She was born to the late Harry and Hattie Doss in Lynchburg, Virginia on February 21, 1930. Mrs. Lindsey was a member of Second Baptist Church, Petersburg. She worked for Petersburg and Hopewell Gas Company (now, Columbia Gas), served as Women's Editor for the Progress Index, and worked for Petersburg General Hospital (now, Southside Regional Medical Center). Mrs. Lindsey was a former member of a number of civic organizations including, Federated Women's Club, and Quota Club, and she also enjoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Richard J. Lindsey; and siblings, Elizabeth Rose, Lucille Roberts, Florine Panion, and Harry Doss Jr. She is survived by her nephews, Rodger Doss (Vickie Bryant), Dana Doss, Scott Dearing (Sally), David Lindsey (Nicole), and George Floyd; nieces, Phyllis Lindsey, Faye Walter, Eileen Kidd, and Joan Toste; numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and special friends, Howard and Jan Vaughan, Jeanne Pond, Jimmy and Jane Murphy, John and Sandra Blaha, and Norm and Nancy Benninghoff. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834, with Reverend Joseph Lewis officiating. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home. Interment at Southlawn Memorial Park, South Prince George will follow the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
