Peggy Anne Cole

Peggy Anne Cole, age 77, of Dinwiddie County, Virginia went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2024. Born on December 8, 1946, to the late Milton and Vena Nealy in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Peggy was raised with an unmatchable work ethic and will to survive through both the good times and the bad. She devoted many years to Walmart where she was admired and respected as manager in the Deli, the Seafood Department, and Bakery. Even after forced retirement due to her health, she enjoyed spending time shopping there and chatting with former coworkers. 

More than anything, Peggy took pride in her role as Nana. She lived for her grandkids, loved them beyond measure, and would do anything for their well-being and happiness. 

Peggy is survived by two sisters, Eunice Lunsford and Joan Nealy; her son Larry Cole; her loving granddaughter and caretaker, Sheila Togger and husband Evan Togger; several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren including her beloved Hailie and Abigail who also enjoyed spending time with and looking after her. She is preceded in death by daughter, Stacey Cole; her grandson, Ronnie Fine Jr; granddaughter, Jessica Fine; and nine brothers and sisters whose memories she carried with her always. 

As a devoted Aunt, Peggy enjoyed going back home and visiting North Carolina with her nieces Betty Rhodes, Patricia Ellis, and Doris Cairns who were more like close sisters to her. A special thank you to Betty for all she has done for her and sharing her unconditional love. Peggy’s legacy lives on through her loved ones, her work, and the many lives she has touched. Her memory will be a source of comfort, pride, and inspiration for all who knew her. 

A funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory. The family will receive friends after the service until 8:00 p.m. Online condolences may be conveyed to the family at www.ealvinsmall.com.
