PFC Marcus Anthony Demery, 21, of Wahiawa, Hawaii, died on June 19, 2015. He was born in Germany and raised in Colonial Heights, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph Tilman Demery and Ida Mae Demery. Marcus joined the United States Army in 2014, and soon after married his loving wife Summer Rae Demery and was then assigned to the 25th INF Division. After their arrival in Hawaii, they were blessed with a daughter, Nova Rae Demery; he is also survived by his mother, Lisa Marie Lyons (Rodger); father, Anthony D. Demery (Ines); brother and mentor, Benjamin J. Demery (Kelly); sister and accomplice, Charlie Nichole Baker (Dylan) and their children, Leela Baker and Kaylie Baker, and sister and best friend, Samantha Marie Demery. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 3:00 pm in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Dr. Steve Felker officiating. Burial will take place in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
