Phoebe Perks

Phoebe Daly Perks, 80, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012 surrounded by her family. Born in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Clarice Belcher Daly. Mrs. Perks was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and was known to everyone as "Little Nanny." She is survived by her husband, Clifford Francis Perks Sr.; her children, Carol J. Coe and fiancé, Edward E. Sharrett of Colonial Heights, Joan P. Jude and husband, Wayne S. of Sussex, Clifford Francis Perks Jr., and Robert Marshall Perks and wife, Karen A. Brooks of Rockville, Maryland; five grandchildren, Buffie L. Connelly, Stephanie E. Mellor, Michelle Degan, Kimberly Lee, and Brooks Perks; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas "Tut" Daly of Colonial Heights; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Mark Houser officiating. Interment private. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Colonial Heights Animal Shelter, 301 Charles H.
