Phyllis Ross

Phyllis K. Ross, 75 of McKenney, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2013 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late, Calvin R. and Lucille W. Lee Kirkland. Mrs. Ross was retired from Seward Luggage Company. Mrs. Ross was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ross, Sr. and a son, Terry L. Thomas. She is survived by five sons, Billy Joe Ross of Charles City, Ralph Ross, Jr., Joseph Calvin Ross, Dennis Thomas all of McKenney, Donnie Thomas and wife, Lisa of Dinwiddie, three daughters, Annette Thomas and companion Gary Starr of McKenney, Nancy L. Hower and companion Lee Bishop of Dinwiddie and Frances Hensen and husband, Calvin of OK, daughter in-law, Becky Thomas of N.C., eighteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one sister Jackie Scott and one brother, Ronnie Kirkland both of Dinwiddie. A funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 9, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Grady Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday September 8, 2013 from 3:00-4:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
