Phyllis Smith

Phyllis Nolan Smith, 86, of Chester, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015. Born in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Martha Whittle Nolan, and was preceded in death by her brother, J. Patrick Nolan. Ms. Smith was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. She is survived by her sons, R. Michael Smith and wife, Joyce, Daniel W. Smith and wife, Terry, Thomas A. Smith and wife, Karen and Andrew N. Smith and wife, Linda; daughters, Patricia W. Whitlow and husband, Jim and Julie S. Kirby and husband, Mark; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy N. Woolridge; numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2015 at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. The family will receive friends following the visitation at the home of Julie & Mark Kirby.
