Ralph B. "Pete" Eudailey, 83, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Ettrick, he was the son of the late William J. and Rosa McLaughlin Eudailey, and was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Eudailey Cummins and a brother, William W. Eudailey. Mr. Eudailey was a life member and Deacon of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church (formerly Ettrick Baptist Church), and was a life member of the Ettrick Volunteer Fire Department with over 30 dedicated years. Known as "Popsicle Pete," he worked for 28 years with Shorty's Ice Cream home delivery, and was a retired truck driver with VDOT for 21 years. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ilse F. Eudailey; a daughter, Monika Eudailey of Matoaca; a son, Ralph C. "Chris" Eudailey and wife, Karen of Spotsylvania; two granddaughters, Jennifer N. Kroon and husband, Matthew of Clarksville, Tennessee and Brooke E. Eudailey and fiancé, Alan Michael Honaker of Spotsylvania; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Barbara House Eudailey of Richmond, Hans & Waltraud Bender, Horst & Christa Schaefer, and Monika Wiegand all of Germany; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Scott Price officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg.
