Ralph Vinson Hiller, 81, of Disputanta, VA, passed away peacefully at home with both of his daughters by his side on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, after a long battle due to complications of back surgery. Born on March 18, 1942 in Chesterfield County, he was the son of the late Ralph Vinson Lewis and Virginia Blankenship Hiller. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Betty Sue Robinson Hiller.
Ralph dedicated service time in the United States Marine Corp. Once he was discharged, he got married to the love of his life, Betty Sue Robinson. They were married for 60 years, and had two daughters together, Cindy and Tonya. He was an amazing, loving, and dependable father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He did not disappoint when it came to loving his family wholeheartedly. You could depend on him for anything you needed and was always there for his family through the ups and downs. He loved to spend time with his family more than anything. Ralph never met a stranger, and enjoyed talking to anyone and everyone, always willing to help out whenever needed – that was just who he was. He enjoyed working on restoring old cars and many other various projects. He loved to be silly and tell jokes, whether they were funny or not. Ralph loved to give people a hard time, which meant he liked you.
Ralph worked for C.W. Wright and Richardson Wayland for many years as a first-class lineman before working for Chesterfield County Public Schools as an electrician, and finally retired after about 20 years.
