Today Randolph W. "Randy" Reekes, Sr. went to rest, after a long illness. He was the son of the late John D. Reekes and Frances Ragsdale Reekes. Mr. Reekes was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Shelvey Wallen Reekes; also by his brother, JD Reekes Jr.; two sisters, Joyce Ann Reekes and Doris Reekes Hutson. Mr. Reekes was a member of Swift Creek Baptist Church in Colonial Heights and retired from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company as a machinist Mr. Reekes is survived by a sister, Carolyn Reekes Hardman; and husband; Burney E. Hardman; a son, Randolph W. Reekes Jr. and daughter in law, Darla R. Reekes; three daughters, Robin R. Anderson, Rose R Parker and Frances R. Allen and husband, Gary; grandchildren, Randolph Reekes, III and wife, Amanda, Willie D. Reekes, Camila Clayton and husband, Jessie, Lauren M. Allen and husband, Bryan, Chassey V. Hollowell and husband, John, Brandon Allen and wife, Michelle; great grandchildren, Samuel P. Reekes, Sarrah and Jei Clayton, Bryanna and Jordan Allen, Keiley Hollowell, Justin Mann and Kelly Mann; nephews, John D Reekes and Ronald H. Reekes; nieces, Joy R Mann and husband, Tommy and Tamra H. Ferreira and husband, Eric; and his old and dear friends Mr. Coy Evans and Harold Thomas are also left to mourn his passing. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 23, 2016 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Reverend Dr. Steve Felker, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
