Randolph Bryant “Randy” Vaughan, 70, passed away at Chippenham Hospital on December 31, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Hilton Vaughan Sr. and Mollie Bryant Vaughan, sister Peggy Vaughan Lee, and in-laws George Perkinson and Marceline Perkinson-Shields. Randy was a graduate of Colonial Heights High School class of 1971 and was a star varsity basketball player credited with many winning games. He loved the University of Virginia Cavaliers and attended many of their home games. He also had a love for playing golf, working in the yard and watching sports. He was a supervisor at the Benjamin Moore Paint Plant in Colonial Heights for 20 years and after a long illness, retired. He was a kind and caring father and a friend to anyone he met.
Randy is survived by his former wife, Rene Perkinson Vaughan Vitikacs, son Scott Vaughan (Molly), daughter Karly Vaughan Ferguson (Mike), granddaughter Jordyn Vaughan Ricci (AJ), and great-granddaughter Ruby Mae Ricci, brother-in-law and best friend Randy Perkinson (Jan), brothers Tommy Vaughan (Margaret), Joseph Hilton “Peanut” Vaughan Jr., (Sue), Bernard “Brute” (Cookie), and favorite uncle Phillip Bryant (Ruth), and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, January 5, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard.
