Ray Junius Story, 84, died at his home in Dinwiddie County after a brave battle with cancer. Born to the late Benny and Essie Brewer Story in Hansom, VA, Ray was also preceded in death by his seven siblings and a son Ray Story Jr. Ray had retired from Brown & Williamson, was an avid fan of NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys, and the New York Yankees. He loved to garden and collect Snoopy memorabilia. Ray is survived by his wife, Dorothy Seymour Story; children, David Wayne Story, Leslie Thomas Nunnally (Debbie), Jerry Edward Nunnally (Penny), Lisa Nunnally Cates (Greg), and Wendy Story Travis (Noel); grandchildren, Daniel Nunnally (Christina), Robert Nunnally (Angel), Matthew Nunnally, Travis Cates (Maegan), and Sara Travis; his great-grandchildren, Daniel Nunnally, Jr., Kaitlin Nunnally, and Hailee Nunnally; sister, Mildred Shultz; many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Ladybug. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. in Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, South Prince George, VA 23805 with the Reverend Joyce Harville officiating.
