Raymond Charles Arnold Jr.

Raymond Charles “Ray” Arnold Jr., 71, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023 surrounded by his wife and children.  He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond C. Arnold Sr.

He started his career with Safeway while in high school and learned every job and managed to work his way up to store manager.  His goal was to retire early and enjoy life, which he was able to do at 50. He loved to golf after retirement and worked at Dogwood Trace Golf Course, where he still played about three times a week.  He was also an avid hunter and belonged to the Cattail Creek Hunt Club in Dinwiddie. Ray loved to fish and spend time on the water. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Arnold; son, Raymond C. “Trey” Arnold III and wife, Cynthia; daughters, Kristen Rae Lofrumento and husband, Michael, Melanie Forgas and husband, Steven; grandchildren, Bethany Smith, Lauren Forgas, Alexis Arnold, Savannah Lofrumento, Landon Lofrumento; great-grandchildren, Dalton and Grayson Smith; his mother, Nellie Wright Arnold, and a brother Richard Arnold.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2023 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834, with the Reverend Greg Hand officiating. Interment will be private.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
