Raymond Jackson "Jack" Cogle, 89, of Chester, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018. He was born September 9, 1929 in Petersburg, Virginia to the late Daniel Raymond and Virginia Tench Cogle, and was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Beverly Lewis Cogle. Jack was a United States Airforce Veteran, and retired as an Insurance Salesman for Metropolitan Life and then for the Hales Agency. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and a former member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church, a member of the Colonial Heights American Legion Post 284, and also was a member of the Colonial Heights Lions Club. Jack is survived by three daughters, Nancy Cogle Calhoun, Sandra Cogle Bondurant and husband, Fil, and Lynnette Cogle Swoope and husband, Michael; three grandchildren, Scott Bondurant and wife, Abby, Jennifer Bondurant Styles and husband, Doug, and Erin Journell Moock and husband, Brad; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Peggy Cogle Quay; A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2018 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Reverend Dr. Andy Brockelman officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
