Raymond Hayden Sr.

Raymond Wesley Hayden Sr., 82, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2010, following a brief illness. He was born on November 3, 1928 to the late Lawrence and Mable Hayden in Colonial Heights, Virginia, and was preceded in death by five brothers. Ray was a U.S. Navy veteran, and a member of the Colonial Heights American Legion Post #284, as well as the IATES Union. Mr. Hayden was a retired Life Insurance Agent with Southland Life Insurance Company. He was a jack of all trades, but mostly loved spending time at his James River home surrounded by his family and their dogs. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann Hayden; his three children, Raymond Jr. and wife, Julie of Virginia Beach, Cathy Yohe and husband, Steve of Colonial Heights, Cindy Farinholt and husband, Lue of Green Bay, Wisconsin; eleven grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2010 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Ray Rowland officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home
