Raymond B. Norton Jr., 64, of Richmond, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Westport Health Care Center. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Mabel Robinson Norton and Raymond B. Norton Sr. Mr. Norton was a member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church, and a retired History teacher with Lloyd C. Bird High School in Chesterfield County. He is survived by a sister, Emma Norton Parker and husband, John H. of Dinwiddie; three nephews, John H. Parker Jr. of Dinwiddie, Chad Parker and wife, Arlene of Fairfax Station, Virginia, and Paul Parker of San Antonio, Texas; great-nephews, Ryan and Ben Parker. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011 in St. Giles Presbyterian Church, 5200 Grove Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23226 with the Reverend Sarah Marsh, the Reverend Harry Johns, and the Reverend Tom Brown officiating. Private interment will be held at Popes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Montross, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Giles Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard
