Raymond Osborne Wilson Sr., 88, of Colonial Heights passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, February 18, 2013, surrounded by his family. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Irby R. and Carrie Huband Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a United States Army veteran having served during World War II. He was owner and operator of the Trading Post in Petersburg with his son, Richard. Raymond was an avid gardener and outdoorsman. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rita Albertine Wilson; two daughters, Judy Marie Wilson and Jimmy Harvell of Sutherland and Patricia C. Szafranski and husband, Kevin of Wilsons; two sons, Raymond O. Wilson Jr. of Richmond and Richard G. Wilson Sr. and wife, Theresa of McKenney; six grandchildren, Janice Penny, Rita Fried, Ricky Wilson Jr., Holden Wilson, Lydia Szafranski and Lauren Szafranski; four great-grandchildren, Patrick, Emma, Nora and Julia; a brother, Robert Wilson and wife, Barbara of Petersburg; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends at the Trading Post. A visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
