Rebecca Joan Reith, 62, of Chester passed away January 14, 2010. She was born November 14, 1948 in Tuckahoe, New York and worked in Alexander's Department Store as a manger in the ladies dress department. In 1972 she married John Reith. They moved to Syracuse, New York in 1973 where Becky helped John finish his bachelors' degree at the State University of New York. When John was commissioned as an Army officer, they spent the next 18 years stationed at Fort Drum; New York, Sinsheim, Germany; Pirmasens, Germany; Fort Lee; Mannheim, Germany; and back to Fort Lee where they settled in Chester, Virginia. Their sons Daniel and Nathaniel attended C.C. Wells Elementary, Carver Middle School, and Thomas Dale and L.C. Bird. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Geraldine Munn Rohrman and her son, David Reith. Mrs. Reith is survived by her devoted husband of thirty-eight and one half years John E. Reith; sons, Daniel J. Reith and Nathaniel J. Reith, all of Chester; three sisters; two brothers; two brothers in-law; one sister in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 4:00 pm in the Colonial Heights chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with Fr. Lou Ruoff officiating. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday from 3 to 4:00 pm till time of service.
