Mrs. Rebecca Smith Wilson, 70, of Colonial Heights, went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 2, 2017 while surrounded by her family and friends at Thomas Johns Cancer Center. Born on May 6, 1946, in Richmond, Va., she was the daughter of the late Geeder and Frances Smith; and was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Peltier; and one brother, Virgil Smith. Mrs. Wilson was the retired Treasurer of Colonial Heights, and was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Wilson; two daughters, Melanie Wilson Lee and Marilyne Wilson; a stepson, David Wilson; one granddaughter, Taylor Lee; two grandsons, Kanyon and Tyler Lee; and a brother, Ronnie Smith of Lynchburg. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Joey Anthony, the Rev. Dr. Andy Brockleman and Roddy Chesnut, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the church and then again on Tuesday morning at the church one hour prior to the service. The family is being served by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
