Rex Farmer, 83, of Matoaca, died December 29, 2008 in Chippenham Medical Center. He was a native of Alabama, the son of the late Harold A. and Corrine Smith Farmer and was a retired Machinist for Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company after 37 years of service. He is survived by his wife (his best friend, nurse and secretary) of 58 years, Myrtice F. Farmer; three children, Ronald Osceola and wife Ellen of Richmond, Judy Butler and husband Juney (devoted son-in-law) of Chester, and Deborah Schneider of Washington State; eight grandchildren, Jason Rex Butler and wife Janel, C. Matthew Butler, Jacob Adam Butler, Morgan Gail Butler, Patrik Ryan Schneider and wife, Merisa, Abigail Denise Schneider, Jessica Marie Farmer, Elizabeth Lynn Farmer, four great-grandchildren, Jayden William Butler, Jaylyn Elizabeth Butler, Greyson (Catbird) Windsor Schneider, and Cameron Elizabeth Farmer. He is also survived by four sisters, Kathleen Hoyle (very devoted sister), Mattie Birchett, Jane Courtney and Joyce Morrison; a brother, Junior Farmer; a special niece, Betty Jean Harger and family; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
