Richard M. “Mike” Aldridge, 72, of Dinwiddie, passed away Friday, December 17, 2021, at Southside Medical Center. He was the son of the late William A. Aldridge and Lucille A. Parker. Mike was a hardworking, devoted family man. He loved baseball, football, and basketball, but baseball was his passion. Mike played for the Lions Club, but after switching teams with Lynn Barnes he became #14 for the Rotary Club, Colonial Heights. He loved all music, but his favorite was country. He was a self-taught drummer and played in his uncle’s band the Williams Brothers and the Real Thing. He had a love for animals, especially cats. He is survived by his wife, of 52 years Jeanette Aldridge; sons, Thomas W. Aldridge (Donna) and Christopher G. Aldridge (Tiffany); six grandchildren, Kati, Brian, Chelsea, Tabitha, Braden, and Kimberly; four great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Lucas, McKenzlee, and Logan; two sisters, Brenda Simmons and Stacy Parker; and one brother, Steven Aldridge. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
