Richard "Dick" C. Bailey

MSGT Richard C. Bailey, U.S. Army (Retired) of N. Prince George, VA passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 surrounded by his wife and two children.

Richard (aka Dick) was born in 1944 in Michigan to Lee and Laurine Bailey and grew up on a farm until Uncle Sam called him to serve in the U.S. Army, which he did proudly for the next twenty-two years. After retiring from the Army, he went on to work as a contractor to the Army with Synoptics, Allen Corporation, and Northrop Grumman. In his free time, Dick enjoyed gardening, traveling, photography, Star Trek, and reading books, but most of all he loved being with his wife, Judi, and spending time with her.

Dick is survived by Judi, his wife of 58 years; his daughter, Jil-Anne (David); his son, Richard D. (Amy); and his two granddaughters, Emily Bailey and Lailah Bailey Teller.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Interment will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, 11302 Merchants Hope Road, N. Prince George, VA 23860.
