Richard Claytor

Richard John Claytor, 70, of Petersburg, VA passed away on February 21, 2016. He was the son of the late, Richard and Rose Paras Claytor. Mr. Claytor was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Petersburg and was also a member of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. He had served in the National Guard and had also retired from the Department of Defense as an Environmental Engineer. Mr. Claytor is survived by numerous cousins and other family members; and a devoted friend, Gregory Anthony Riggan. A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Capauno, celebrant. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, VA. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church. The family is being served by the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
