Richard Franklin Clements, 71, of Colonial Heights, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012. Born in Petersburg in 1940, he graduated from the University of Virginia and Virginia Commonwealth University. He served in the United States Air Force and subsequently worked for and retired from the Department of the Army as an Auditor. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy F. and Rachael W. Clements, and his nephew, David S. Clements Sr. He is survived by his brother, Lewis Frederick Clements Sr. (Shirley) of Chester; his sister, Nellie C. Landrum (James H.) of Lottsburg; and nephews, Lewis Frederick Clements Jr. of Jacksonville, Alabama, Edward F. Landrum and James C. Landrum of Arlington. The family invites friends to join them for lunch 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Carini's Italian Restaurant, 3620 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 prior to a Graveside service being held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg with the Reverend Deborah Fair officiating, the pastor at Wesley United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Richmond Chapter, 4600 Cox Road, Glen Allen, Virginia 23060, or a charity of the donor's choice.
