My Beloved Richard Bolling Costley Jr., 64, of Chesterfield, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Johnston-Willis Medical Center. He was a member of Destination Church, the founder of the Chesterfield County Dive Team, and a veteran with the Virginia National Guard. He retired after 18 years of service with the Chesterfield County Fire Department, and more recently a retired Safety and Emergency Response Training Supervisor with Dominion Virginia Power, where he loved and enjoyed his co-workers. He is survived by his wife, with whom he shared a beautiful 38 year marriage, Ida Costley; two daughters, Jan Costley and Leigh-Ann Costley; grandchildren, Devon Xavier Costley, Leah Nevaeh and Ashton Zane Costley, who knew him as "Papa," and Zachery Bryce "Z.B." Boyd, who knew him as his "Buddy;" his sister, Carolyn Costley Coles; a sister-in-law, Barbara Iannon; and his devoted best friend, Jim Partridge. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2014 at Matoaca United Methodist Church, 6301 River Road, S. Chesterfield, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend Rick Butcher and the Reverend Pete Hype officiating. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
