Richard Elder

Richard B. "Peanut" Elder, 50, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 20, 2017, in Colonial Heights. Born December 8, 1966, and preceded in death by his step-mother, Elsie Elder, Richard is survived by his parents, Robert Elder, Keith and Billie Cox; his loving wife of over 15 years, Chan Elder; his brothers, Scott King (Nancy), Bobby Elder (Vicki), Ronnie Elder (Sherry), Russ Elder (Emil), Randy Elder (Penny), and Jason Cox (Tatiane); his sister, Kelly Riddle (Daniel); his three children, Jennifer Jones (Dwayne), Samantha Elder (Tom), and Austin Elder; two grandchildren, Dakota and Kaden; his best friend, Danny Ozmore; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Rachel Luck officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Colonial Heights High School Band Boosters, either through their Facebook page or at 3600 Conduit Rd, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
