Richard Elder Sr.

Richard T. Elder Sr., 90, of Prince George County, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg. Mr. Elder was the son of the late Thomas W. and Roxie Adkinson Elder, and was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Louise C. Elder, who passed away on April 11, 2014. He attended Oakland Baptist Church in Disputanta, was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, and a retired Technician with C&P Telephone Company. Richard was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie E. Daniel and husband, Donnie of Disputanta; a son, Richard T. Elder Jr. and wife, Eugenia of Prince George; a grandson, Richard T. Elder III and wife, Ashley; a great-grandson, Gabrien Lucas Elder of Prince George; numerous nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service for Richard and Louise will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George with the Reverend Robert W. Livesay III officiating.
