Richard Estes

Richard "Dicky" C. Estes 77, of Colonial Heights, died Saturday July 17, 2010 at Johnston Willis Medical Center He was the son of the late Kendall W. and Mabel Chiles Estes and was also preceded in death by his first wife Joyce Oaks Estes. Mr. Estes was a United States Army Veteran; he was a retired Computer Specialist at Fort Lee, a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 284 in Colonial Heights. He is survived by his wife Charlotte A. Estes, two sons Steve Estes and wife Leila of Silver Springs, Maryland, Scott Estes and wife Chong of Korea, granddaughters Diana Estes, Elizabeth Estes, of Virginia, sister Ann Shumaker and husband Bruce of Virginia Beach, extended family two step-sons Ricky and Michael Cole, step-granddaughter Crista Cole, all of Colonial Heights, brother in-law Hobo Ackerman and wife Connie of Colonial Heights, sisters in-law Phyllis Ackerman, Donna Ackerman, Vivian Dale, and Adelaide Minter. A funeral service will take place 4:00 p.m. Tuesday July 20, 2010 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church 3110 Greenwood Avenue Colonial Heights, Virginia with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Ginn and the Rev. Dr. Andrew Brockelman officiating. Interment will be Private. The family will receive friends from 3-4:00 p.m. the day of the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church 3110 Greenwood Avenue Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. The Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
